Press Release: MSc in International Financial Services

The University of Buckingham Business School is aiming to launch an MSc in International Financial Services, starting in January 2010. The degree will complement the existing master programmes: The MSc in Service Management, MSc in Accounting and Finance and the MBA.

- The benefits and disadvantages of intermediation. The financial services industry being a highly intermediated sector.
- The extent to which regulation and compliance can lead to a better, healthier financial services sector.
- The nature of service within the sector, in particular how the industry can serve both the wealthy and the poor.
Jane Tapsell, Dean of the Buckingham Business School commented: “The Masters in International Financial Services is a welcome, and timely, addition to our portfolio of postgraduate courses. We have received extremely encouraging feedback on the degree from experts in the field and from within the academic community.”
Students will undertake a dissertation during their final term of study and will be asked to depict the structure, and future role, undertaken by a particular actor within the industry. The dissertation will be substantive, creative and relevant.
